Brought to you by Kill Kancer and Very, Inc. the “Art Kills Kancer” poster campaign communicates cancer prevention and early detection strategies in a clever and edgy way. The campaign will kick off with an opening event at Soo Visual Arts Center in Minneapolis, and will be free to the public.
Did you know:
- Cancer is the #1 cause of death in Minnesota.
- 90% of cancer is caused by environmental factors and lifestyle choices you can control (poor diet, limited exercise, tobacco/alcohol use).
- Half of all men and a third of all women will develop cancer in their lifetime.
- Screenings, self-exams and awareness save lives.
For this debut show, eight colorful and graphically bold posters have been created by artists under the creative direction of Sarah McNerney of Very, Inc. and highlight “The Hateful Eight” cancers, those that can be prevented through lifestyle changes or early detection and treatment.
The event will also feature DJ Lori Barbero
Opening night is March 9, but the poster show will run March 9 through 12. For more info on the “Hateful 8” and Kill Kancer’s work, click here.
