March 25 is Våffeldagen (Waffle Day) in Sweden. Observed nine months before Christ’s birthday, Waffle Day commemorates Annunciation. Learn how a simple dialect corruption forever linked Mary’s conception with waffles, and celebrate all things våffel. In this demonstration style class, we’ll prepare both savory and sweet waffles, Glad Våffeldagen!
This class is demonstration style and is held in ASI’s Paulson Hall, with Patrice Johnson at the cooking helm. She is a Nordic food fanatic and meatball historian who loves to give old Scandinavian recipes a modern spin.
