As part of the Ordway’s World Music & Dance Series, the performing arts venue presents Oyate Okodakiciyapi: An Evening of Native Contemporary Dance. Oyate Okodakiciyapi, which means “people coming together” in the Dakota language, will be an enthralling showcase of the artistry and culture of Native contemporary dance. The evening’s performance is co-curated with Minneapolis-based performer and choreographer, Rosy Simas, and will feature solo works by native Hawaiian Christopher K. Morgan, and Santee Smith from the Mohawk Nation. But wait, there’s more—you’ll be treated to a spinning and stomping performance by Dancing Earth, an indigenous dance theater company.
