Orlando (MCO)
Beer
Crooked Can Brewery may be a 20-minute drive from Orlando, but it’s worth the visit. Built inside the Plant Street Market in historic downtown Winter Garden, the upstart brewery has a patio for you to soak up some rays with a beer in hand, such as their Citrus Kicker, an IPA with local orange and grapefruit zest which amplifies the citrus notes of the hops. A hidden gem near downtown, The Thirsty Topher is a craft lover’s treasure, offering a wide selection of craft beer and boutique wine.
Food
At Café Tu Tu Tango, art and food come together. As you munch on their tapas, such as spiced alligator bites or guava barbecue ribs, you’ll notice local artists painting or eclectic dancers weaving throughout the room. Another tantalizing tapas option is El Bodegón in Winter Park, a Spanish restaurant featuring authentic cuisine from the Iberian peninsula.
Culture
Besides the obvious (and magical) answer of Disney World, this city offers so much more to those ready to think outside the theme park. Check out the Orlando Science Center, the Harry P. Leu Gardens, or even the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to scratch your cultural itch.
