Chowgirls Killer Catering is expanding into a new Northeast Minneapolis headquarters, the company announced today.
At nearly 11,000 square feet—double the square footage of its previous location—the new HQ at 336 Hoover Street NE will allow Chowgirls to keep up with a rising demand for their catering services across the Metro, while still dishing out organic, seasonal ingredients and a sustainable commitment.
The building, formerly occupied by Joseph Catering, was acquired last summer, with renovations occurring over the past months with the help of architect Wynne Yelland of Locus Architecture. The space includes a 3,000-square-foot kitchen, team office, expanded warehouse storage, as well as a bright, light-filled reception area tasting room, according to the press release.
Co-founder and co-owner Heidi Andermack also noted that “the remodel reflects our sustainability standards and commitment to community,” such as the re-use of original wood for accents, 75 percent recycled construction waste, and motion-activated LED lighting for energy conservation.
“We’re so happy we can continue to grow while remaining in Northeast, a place near and dear to us,” says co-founder and co-owner Amy Lynn Brown, via press release. “We feel optimistic and re-energized now that we can say yes to more events, including being ready for all the great opportunities with the upcoming Superbowl.
Chowgirls continues to operate its event space, Solar Arts by Chowgirls, at 711 15th Avenue NE—in the same building as Indeed Brewing.
