Craft Cocktail: Avocadarita at fig + farro

Margaritas and avocados go hand in hand, especially when the weather turns hot and humid. And at fig + farro, both can literally be in your hand at the same time with their Avocadarita.

“Avocados lend an amazing, creamy mouthfeel and an awesome light color,” says Michael Dunn, bartender at fig + farro. “Sweet orange, creamy avocado, classic margarita citrus, and a subtle background heat makes for a refreshing, unique spring sipper.”

Avocadarita

2 ounces Cabrito Blanco tequila
¼ ounce Tattersall Orange Crema
1 ounce Avo Goop** (combo of avocados and jalapeno simple syrup*)
¾ ounce fresh lime juice
2 dashes orange bitters (Dashfire)

* Jalapeno simple syrup:

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 jalapenos

Dissolve sugar with water in a pot and bring to a boil. Add in jalapenos, with as many seeds as you’d like for heat. Cool before use.

** Avo Goop

1 avocado
1 jalapeno
50-milliliters jalapeno simple syrup

Blend avocado and jalapeno with simple syrup. Strain and chill.

Bring it all together

Mix ingredients, shake.
