A revered Twin Cities chef is teaming up with a legendary Minnesota frozen pizza brand to bring you a series of chef-inspired pies.
Having closed the doors of his beloved Piccolo in March, Doug Flicker has been serving as the executive chef of the esteemed Esker Grove in the Walker Art Center, while simultaneously working on revamping South Minneapolis’ Sunrise Inn, due to reopen in summer 2017 as Bull’s Horn. Heggies Pizza has been serving up deliciously uncomplicated pizzas to hungry bar-goers for nearly 30 years.
“Heggies and Flicker connected over their common dedication to innovation and passion for the food they create and, of course each is quite fond of the other’s craft and committed history,” according to a press release. “Their collaboration pizzas will echo the culture and taste of Heggies’ core customers, while continuing to elevate common perceptions of frozen pizza.”
More details on the partnership (including the pizza styles) will be announced in the coming weeks with a launch expected sometime this summer or fall.
