10,000 Minutes of Minnesota Craft Beer

Rochester Craft Beer Expo
Mayo Civic Center, 30 Civic Center Dr, Rochester • 2–6pm • $35–45
The Rochester Craft Beer Expo returns to the Mayo Civic Center for a fourth run with tons of great craft beer, food, and live music from Black River Review. Bonus: post-Expo events tend to pop-up in downtown Rochester. We recommend staying the night and making a weekend of it. More information.
AHA Rally & Big Brew Day
Lucid Brewing Co., 6020 Culligan Way, Minnetonka • 8am–4pm
Lucid will host both the American Homebrewers Association Rally as well as Big Brew Day, with lots of hot and cold water and parking-lot space for brewers to do their thing, plus a few beers on tap to enjoy while working away, Stick around until 3pm and catch the announcement of Lucid’s BFD (Brewer for Day) contest winner. Fulton Gran Fondo
Fulton NE, 2540 2nd St NE, Minneapolis • 9am–10pm • $40
The Fulton Gran Fondo is a two-headed monster: one part bike ride, one part beer-release block party. The ride spans 100 miles, starting and ending at the new Fulton Brewery. The Block Party will run from 2–10pm and features live music, food trucks, and $5 beers. More information and registration.
Bike MS: Sam’s Club Twin Cities Ride 2015
Summit Brewing Company, 910 Montreal Cir, St. Paul • 8:30am • $20 (with a minimum fundraising goal of $50)
The National MS Society’s 1-day ride returns to Summit Brewing Company. MS Minnesota’s rides are some of the most well-organized and supported rides out there. Choose from 15-, 25- or 50-mile ride options, complete with rest-stop food and drink, mechanical support, and more. All rides end with a free beer and ride t-shirt, as well as live music at Summit. Food trucks will be on site; Summit’s taproom will stay open until 9pm. More information.
American Craft Beer Week
American Craft Beer Week is a celebration of U.S. craft brewers. Beer lovers everywhere will celebrate the greatness that is craft beer with a variety of events across the country. Viva la craft beer revolution! More information.
Grumpy’s NE Art-A-Whirl Party
Grumpy’s NE, 2200 4th St NE, Minneapolis • Free
Grumpy’s always pulls out all the stops for Art-A-Whirl, and this year is no different. In addition to a pop-up Posters and Pints art show, they’ll host the Aardvark Records Traveling Record Show and possibly the best music lineup of the weekend with music from Sims, Cactus Blossoms, Farewell Milwaukee, Dumpster Juice, and a surprise guest. The title says it all. 612Brew’s Art-A-Whirl blowout includes plenty of great art from folks like Adam Turman and Dogfish Media, tons of 612 beer, and two days of bands, food trucks, special casks, and more. More information.
Indeed Brewing Company, 711 15th Ave NE, Minneapolis • Free
Indeed Brewing is planning on celebrating Art-A-Whirl weekend in a big way. All weekend they’ll have live music presented by First Avenue, as well as food trucks and great beer. The music starts at 6pm on Friday and includes artists ranging from Rich Mattson to Ben Weaver and Grant Hart. More information.
Stillwater Brewers Bazaar
The Avalon Roverboat, 525 South Main, Stillwater • 12–4pm • $45
The Stillwater Sunrise Rotary hosts its 9th Annual Brewers Bazaar on a riverboat, making it a festival like no other. The event features plenty of local breweries, live music, and a great time on a boat bound for nowhere! More information.
Stanley’s Bacon & Beer Fest
Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room, 2500 University Ave NE, Minneapolis • 2-5pm • $45–60
During Art-A-Whirl, Stanley’s will shut down two blocks of Lowry to host a festival featuring great beer, bacon samples, and live music. You can’t go wrong here. More information.
Schell’s Lager Lauf
Schell’s Brewery, 1860 Schell’s Rd, New Ulm • 10:30am– 2:30pm • $25–30
Schell’s Lager Lauf is a 6K or 12K run through New Ulm and Flandreau State Park. Whether you’re a serious runner or prefer to spend more time at the “beer stops” than on the road, Schell’s has you covered. The event wraps up with brats and beer at the brewery. Beer Dabbler Craft Beer Corner Opens
CHS Field, 360 N Broadway St, St Paul • 7:05pm
The Beer Dabbler is back at St. Paul Saints games starting on May 21 for the Saints home opener. Visit the Beer Dabbler Craft Beer corner in left field for 32 local and national craft beers. More information.
Posters and Pints

They had me at 40 artists and 14 breweries. But let’s continue, shall we? Posters and Pints will showcase beer-themed, limited-edition posters from lots of great artists as well as great beer from local breweries.
