The beer market in Africa is predicted to grow faster than Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America, in the next five years, reports BeverageDaily.com.
Beer consumption in the continent is set to continue growing at similar rates to previous years. Year-on-year growth was 4% during 2012, ’13, and ’14, and is expected to come in at 5% for 2015.
Growth is being driven by increased GDP, economic development, and urbanization, as well as population growth: Nigeria, for example, is set to have the world’s third-largest population by 2050. The most influential beer companies right now in Africa include SABMiller, Heineken, Castel Group, and Diageo.
