Beer list for Fair State’s Mixed Culture sour festival

Fair State Brewing Cooperative has put a stake in the ground on the funkier side of beer. The Northeast Minneapolis brewery will dig into the recesses of their cellar to celebrate all things sour at their Mixed Culture (Festival of the Funky & Sour) on June 25 from 2–8pm.

The event is free to attend and Fair State will be offering 4 oz. and full pours of the below beers while supplies last (some of these are extremely limited). The guys from Oakhold Farmhouse Brewery, who have been working on Fair State’s sour program as they build their own brewery outside of Duluth (follow their progress in our “Building a Brewery” series), will also be on hand pouring some of their test batches.

Previously released beers:

  • LÄCTOBÄC 8 – salted watermelon gose
  • LÄCTOBÄC X(MAS) – cranberry, blood orange, ginger
  • LÄCTOBÄC 12 – lemon, lemongrass, ginger
  • Dorado Gold – Brett. fermented, El Dorado hopped pale ale
  • Rye Falutin – barrel-aged rye saison on white wine grapes
  • Wild Rover – barrel-aged sour stout on raspberries
  • Saison Drei – Brett. saison (very limited!)
  • Bricoleur Batch 01 – tropical Brett., lightly sour (very limited!)
  • Barrel 5 – barrel-aged sour saison dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin (very limited!)
  • Barrel 10 – barrel-aged sour stout (very limited!)

Previously unreleased barrel-aged/fermented sours:

  • Lichtenhainer – barrel-fermented smoked sour wheat beer
  • Limoo – barrel-aged sour aged on dried limes
  • Paradisiac – barrel-aged sour re-fermented with grapefruit, lemon, and orange
  • Bricoleur Batch 02 – mixed-culture, stainless-fermented, Pilsner-inspired goodness
  • Frontenac – barrel-fermented sour brewed in collaboration with Fulton brewing and aged in Minnesota wine barrels
  • Citra Sour – 100% Citra hopped/dry-hopped, barrel-fermented sour
  • Blueberry Lemon – a single barrel of pale sour re-fermented with blueberry puree and fresh lemon
