Can manufacturer drops craft beer clients as supply tightens

Craft beer may be more popular than ever, but breweries that package their beer in aluminum cans may soon have a harder time getting their product into the hands of their customers.

The number three can manufacturer in the U.S., Crown, is reportedly dropping new and existing craft beer clients using either 12-oz or 16-oz aluminum cans; as well as lengthening lead times to as long as 18 months “when available at all,” according to a recent report from the Brewers Association, the craft beer industry trade group.
