Fair State Brewing Cooperative is planning a “Big Bottle Drop”on January 28 of two new mixed culture sours and a re-release of one fan favorite.
One of the new releases is U-Pick, a 5.5% ABV barrel-fermented sour beer made with 280 pounds of raspberries picked by Fair State’s member-owners, workers, and friends in August 2016. According to the brewery, Fair State added the fresh berries to mature barrel-fermented sour beer, and allowed it to re-ferment.
The second new release is the next installment of the popular Bricoleur series. The brewery has been working on blending young Brett beer with mature barrel sour beer. Bricoleur #4 is an “80% stainless fermented mixed culture Saison, 20% barrel-fermented mixed culture sour blend, dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc.”
The final bottle in the Big Bottle Drop is Raspberry Roselle, voted Minnesota’s Best Fruit Beer in The Growler’s 2016 Kind-of-a-Big-Deal Readers’ Choice Awards. This version of Fair State’s hibiscus sour saison, Roselle, is re-fermented with a “whole bunch of raspberries.”
All three beers will be available for sale in 750-milliliter bottles at the Fair State taproom in Northeast Minneapolis starting at noon on January 28.
