Fair State Brewing Cooperative was named one of the 2015 Top New Brewers in the World by RateBeer this weekend, coming in tenth among the more than 5,400 new world-wide breweries.

From RateBeer’s website:

Fair State is the first Minnesota brewery to receive this award. The brewery was also named the best new brewery in Minnesota for 2015.

The top beer and top brewer awards for Minnesota in 2015 both went to Surly Brewing Company, with the top beer award going to Abrasive, Surly’s double IPA.

Town Hall Brewery and Surly were both named among the top 100 brewers in the world, the only two Minnesota breweries to receive this distinction.

RateBeer began revealing its annual craft beer awards list in 2002. Awards are calculated by aggregating over seven million user-generated reviews of around 380,000 beers.
