Food & Wine rates Town Hall’s Masala Mama as one of the “Best IPAs in America”

What do you get when you mix Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Mount Hood, Citra, and Experimental 342 hops? Well, according to Food & Wine, it’s Minnesota’s best IPA: Town Hall Brewery’s Masala Mama.

In a recent editorial, the magazine picked the Best IPA in every state. For our neighbors to the east they chose Ale Asylum’s Bedlam!, in Iowa it was Toppling Goliath’s ZeeLander, and Illinois went to Pipeworks’ Ninja vs. Unicorn Double IPA.

For Minnesota, the magazine said, “For the rest of us, an IPA called Masala Mama might sound ridiculous, but in Minneapolis, taking down a pint of the brew is practically a rite of passage. The highly-regarded downtown brewpub Town Hall has been serving up this acclaimed IPA for well over a decade, and though many beer trends have come and gone, this lighter, 5.9 percent ABV beer has maintained its reputation by being an easy-drinking crowd favorite.”
