The report states that Haug will not be replacing head brewer Chris Boggess, but joining his team of brewers, helping plan for a forthcoming expansion and distillery, and eventually brewing some of “his own signature beers.”
Todd’s wife, Linda Haug, was let go from Surly earlier this year after working there for several years on the food side of Surly’s destination brewery. She will be joining Todd at 3 Floyds consulting on their brewpub.
According to the MSP report, Todd said: “When I saw what they did to Linda, after she never had a bad performance review or one word of warning, I had to ask, could they do the same thing to me? When Nick [Floyd, the owner of 3 Floyds,] heard what happened to Linda, he called her immediately and said, ‘If you guys could work for us, that would be an all-star team of brewers and hospitality people. We could join forces, and have fun doing it.’ When I gave my notice I suddenly got job offers from all over the planet. But I knew what I wanted to do—to go to Three Floyds.”
