If there’s one thing you’re likely to know about Green Flash beer, it’s that they’re not exactly shy on hops. And true to form, the San Diego brewery has announced they’ll continue their global tour of hop flavors for another year.
Their final entry in the 2015 Hop Odyssey series is now available. Segal Ranch Session IPA (4.5% ABV, 65 IBU) features single-estate Tomahawk, Centennial and Cascade hops from Yakima, Washington.
The 2015 series was an exploration of the session IPA style. For 2016, Green Flash will create three different single-hopped pale ales, all using the same malt base of 2-row barley, English Golden Promise, and Premium English Caramalt.
The hops defining the 2016 lineup will be: Pacific Gem from New Zealand (available January-April), followed by Styrian Goldings from Slovenia (May-August) and finally Nuggets from the United States (September-December).
