Lift Bridge Brewing Co. and Red Cow Restaurant & Bar released the fifth in their Cowlaboration series of beers on Saturday, October 23 at the restaurant’s three locations. The newest beer in the series is a 5.5% ABV coconut porter that was brewed in early October at the Stillwater brewery.

For anyone who actively traded for Mounds bars on Halloween as a kid, this beer is a major nostalgia trip. The chocolate and roasted malt flavors create a dark chocolate character that combines with the mellow sweetness of coconut into a liquid version of the classic candy bar. But don’t expect candy sweetness here—this medium-bodied porter finishes dry and roasty.

The Cowlaboration series began back in May 2015 when the restaurant released a session red IPA brewed by Fort Collins–based Odell Brewing Company. Since then Red Cow has been collaborating with Lift Bridge to brew special beers that are available at the restaurant and at the Lift Bridge taproom.
