Does spring have you dreaming of growing hops? Those lupulin-filled daydreams may be more attainable than you might think.

Mighty Axe Hops, Minnesota’s largest commercial hop grower, has made the second edition of their Minnesota Hops Grower’s Guide available to download for free.

In April 2015, Mighty Axe released their first edition, which included recommendations for those interested in installing a hop yard. The guide was downloaded over 1,500 times by people across the country.

After two years of hop growing and in the midst of expanding their operation from 3.5 acres in Ham Lake to an additional 80-acre plot in Foley, Mighty Axe has updated their growers guide with lessons learned from this past season.

“This 2nd Edition of the Mighty Axe Hops Minnesota Hops Grower’s Guide is updated with lessons learned, earned, and paid for over the last two years of growing hops in Minnesota,” according to a press release. “This 2nd Edition guide has the same purpose as the 1st—help others learn how to grow hops. It is less an exhaustive step-by-step guide and more a plainly written letter to a friend. It is advice given freely for the reader to determine for themself how much to believe.”

The second edition is free to download here.
