The Minnesota State Fair announced 32 new food items that will grace the fryers at the upcoming Great Minnesota Get-Together.
If there are three new items you’ll need to try, here are the early favorites:
1) The Carpe Diem, The Rabbit Hole, International Bazaar
This looks like the sundae of our dreams. A buttermilk-miso waffle cone filled with balsamic-roasted strawberry compote, vanilla ice cream, graham cracker crumble, and fresh strawberry. (Aug. 25-Aug. 30 only)
2) Paneer On A Spear, Hot Indian Foods, International Bazaar
You can’t go to the Fair and not eat deep-fried cheese, but Hot Indian’s paneer might make you skip the curds. It’s deep-fried Indian-seasoned paneer cheese coated with a local craft beer batter and served with tomato garlic chutney. (Aug. 31-Sept. 5 only)
3) Spicy Pork Bowl, The Blue Barn, West End Market
The Blue Barn has gained a stellar reputation in their first couple years vending at the Fair. This year, their new offering is a mix of adobo pulled pork, rice, black beans, spinach, charred salsa and fried onion strings.
