New Belgium and Indeed to collaborate on honey wheat wine

Indeed Brewing Company has teamed up with New Belgium Brewing for the latest in New Belgium’s Beers with Vrienden series. The two breweries will create Come Together, a honey wheat wine, to be released this spring.

Come Together will be a super-heady sipper packed with tons of wildflower honey,” says New Belgium, via press release. “Strawberry scented Belma hops and New Belgium’s house Belgian yeast strain will all come together to create a warming, full-bodied beer.”

The wheat wine is slated to be 9.0% ABV and 40 IBU, with a mash of white, red, and torrified wheat, along with spelt and oats, and wildflower honey.

“We use honey a fair amount at Indeed, so for an ‘Indeed flavored’ brew at New Belgium, I felt honey was a pretty natural choice,” says Josh Bischoff, Head Brewer at Indeed. “[New Belgium brewer] Travis [Burge] mentioned he was thinking about how he could work honey into the mix and doing a wheat wine at Indeed has been on our list for a while.”

Indeed will head to Ft. Collins, Colorado to brew Come Together at New Belgium on March 18. The New Belgium crew will come to Minneapolis for release parties April 27-30. Their trip will include a brew date at Indeed on April 29 to create a second collaboration beer, Strawberry Fields Sour.
