When you mix a bit of brotherly love with beer and place it within a former bakery, what do you get? Downtown Grand Forks will find out, as Half Brothers Brewing Company is setting their sights on opening this summer.

Co-owners and half brothers, Chad Gunderson and Taylor Nord, are transforming the former Dakota Harvest Bakers building into their appropriately named Half Brothers Brewing. Chad, former head brewer at Rhombus Guys, will be head brewer at Half Brothers and manage the day-to-day operations, while little bro Taylor will help out in the taproom as needed, while he juggles his studies in physical therapy at the University of North Dakota.

The brewery and taproom aim to be a comforting showcase of craft, as a “relaxed and cultured community gathering spot where one can find great craft beer, live music, local art, and a knowledgeable staff,” according to the press release. The 10-barrel brewhouse aims to produce a wide range of various styles of craft beers, rotating often, while also keeping some standard staples in their large lineup. A small craft food menu will also be available for patrons to nosh on, while kicking back to the local art and live music atmosphere.
