San Diego-based Saint Archer Brewing Company announced it is selling a majority stake to MillerCoors’ craft and import division, Tenth & Blake. The sale, expected to be finalized this October, is the third acquisition this week behind Heineken’s 50% purchase of Lagunitas and A-B InBev’s acquisition of Virtue Cider.
Saint Archer Brewing was founded in 2013, the brainchild of surf filmmaker Josh Landan and skateboarder Mikey Taylor. Prior to the sale to MillerCoors, the company was collectively owned by a group of action sports stars and boasted a strong group of award-winning brewers. In the past two years, the company has grown rapidly.
In a press statement, MillerCoors said Saint Archer’s management team will continue to lead day-to-day operations. The business will reportedly be run as a separate unit of Tenth and Blake.
