Third Street Brewhouse, the craft beer arm of Cold Spring Brewing Co., has shaken up its staff and product offerings in what vice president of sales Larry Williams calls “a refocusing.”
Head brewer Horace Cunningham and assistant brewer Steven Gittens are among those departing. In their stead, brewer Karl Schmitz returns to Cold Spring from West O Beer in West Okoboji, Iowa, which took home a gold medal in the sweet stout category at this year’s Great American Beer Festival.
Third Street is also suspending production of two flagship beers—Bitter Neighbor black IPA and Rise To The Top cream ale—to shift production and distribution focus to their Minnesota Gold lager (above) which debuted in July.
