Red wine is better for you than grape juice, says New York Times health blogger Karen Weintraub. That’s due to the fermentation process involved in making wine, which changes the makeup of the juice. Plus, the skin of the grape, which is loaded with healthful antioxidants, is more likely to be used in the winemaking process.
She goes on to write about how the color of the wine indicates how many healthful nutrients the drink contains and how numerous studies have shown that drinking alcoholic beverages in moderation reduces the risk of coronary heart disease.
