Minnesota scores Gold, Silver, and Bronze at the Great American Beer Festival 2014

Brewers and representatives from more than 700 breweries from across the nation traveled to Denver this past weekend to participate in the largest U.S. beer competition and public festival—the 2014 Great American Beer Festival. Over 200 beer experts from ten countries tasted 5,507 commercial entries rating them across 145 different beer styles.

Amidst this astounding number of entries, six beers from Minnesota breweries stood above the rest to garner gold, silver, and bronze medals at the GABF Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 4. Congratulations to the following breweries:

Gold Medal – White IPA, Badger Hill Brewing

Category: American-Belgo-Style Ale

Gold Medal – Wee Heavy, Steel Toe Brewing

Category: Scotch Ale


Silver Medal – Mexican Honey Lager, Indeed Brewing

Category: Specialty Honey Beer

Bronze Medal – Extra Pale Ale, Summit Brewing

Category: Classic English-Style Pale Ale

Bronze Medal – Buffalo Bock, Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery

Category: Wood- and Barrel-Aged Strong Beer

Bronze Medal – 14° ESB, Bent Paddle Brewing

Category: Extra Special Bitter
