Odell Brewing Company
Runoff Red IPA
6.5% ABV, 50 IBU
In 1989, Odell Brewing set up shop in a converted grain elevator outside Fort Collins—the second microbrewery in Colorado. For a while, brothers Doug, Wynne, and Corkie Odell spent a lot of time explaining to people what craft beers were. Explain no more. Educated palates embraced Odell and their mission. Proof: At the 2014 World Beer Cup competition, Runoff took home the gold medal in the American-style Amber/Red Ales category. It is dry-hopped, so plenty of pine here, but not so much as to disguise the rich malty flavors that come pouring through on a satin-smooth finish. Pair with a campfire, smoked salmon, and crusty bread, and wake us when summer is over!
