Order Up! Keg and Case 2.0

Updated August 15, 2019

Order Up! is the Growler’s ongoing biweekly account of noteworthy Minnesota restaurant openings, closings, and future openings. Please send any tips to [email protected]

All dates are approximate based on best information available; opening dates, in particular, tend to shift around a lot.

THIS WEEK’S GIST: The evolution of the Keg and Case food hall on West 7th in St. Paul (see our review shortly after the food hall opened last year) continues. One of our original criticisms of the project was a lack of affordable lunch options; the opening several months ago of Pimento, the conversion of the pricey Gazta & Enhancements to the casual O’Cheeze, and the upcoming openings of iPho’s Bread and Boba concept and Forest to Fork’s Urban Wok concept will go a long way to addressing that shortcoming. Every food hall is an evolving quest for balance and the perfect mix of tenants—Keg and Case seems to be finding its stride, roughly a year after opening. And the opening nearby of Rose Street Cafe further adds to the sense that West 7th is a street on the culinary rise.
