Great news for fans of August Schell Brewing Company’s Noble Star Collection. The brewery just finished revamping their second vintage cypress tank from 1936, meaning more bottles will be hitting shelves for future Noble Star releases.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Noble Star Collection, August Schell has released two different Berliner weisses: a classic Berliner Weisse, Star of the North, and a Berliner Weisse with raspberries, Framboise du Nord. Berliner weisse is a tart, effervescent ale that Napoleon once called “la Champagne du Nord” or the Champagne of the North. In honor of Minnesota’s state motto, “L’etoile du Nord” or Star of the North, August Schell created the Noble Star Collection, putting their vintage cyprus tanks back to work nearly a century after they first came to the brewery.

The series already has a strong following: Star of the North has a “world-class” rating on BeerAdvocate with a 95 out of 100, and Framboise du Nord has an “outstanding” rating on BeerAdvocate with 92 out of 100. Around the Twin Cities finding a bottle of either Noble Star beer can be a challenge, but now the second cyprus tank is ready for use you’ll have a better chance of snagging a few bottles for your beer fridge.
