In a Facebook post shared this morning, Summit Brewing Company announced they’re pulling distribution of their beer out of six states.
The post reads as follows:
“For over 30 years, Summit Brewing has focused on one thing: making the best, highest-quality beer for craft enthusiasts. Along the way, we’ve been invited into your homes, businesses, and refrigerators, and we’ve been fortunate to make friends and fans out of folks across the country. It’s been a great honor to share our beer with you all.
“This work, however, is not without its challenges, and recent changes to the industry have made getting our beer to retailers and to you increasingly difficult. In order to strengthen our core and meet demand in our home market, we’ve made the difficult decision to cease distribution to six states. To our friends, fans, and colleagues in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, and Michigan, we are sorry to leave your area and look forward to returning in the future. Until then, cheers, and thank you for supporting Summit.”
Summit declined to provide any additional information about the decision.
After this change, Summit’s distribution footprint will cover Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
