Surly Brewing Company has reached new heights–literally.
Surly Brewing Company announced on their Facebook Page Wednesday that their beer will now be available on Sun Country flights. That’s right! Book your next flight with Sun Country Airlines and you’ll be able to purchase cans of Furious, Hell, and Bender for $7 (a pretty decent deal if you ask us).
Only a few other airlines have introduced craft beer on their flights. New Belgium’s Fat Tire is offered on Southwest and AirTrans flights. Alaskan Airlines offers the very fitting Alaskan Amber. Frontier — a Colorado based airline company — serves their local Oskar Blues’ Dales Pale Ale.
The trend of airlines partnering with craft breweries is certainly catching on. When Frontier was deciding to bring craft beer on-board they left if up to their Facebook fans to choose which brewery would make the cut on their “Choose Your Brew” contest.
The integration of craft beer into a typically domestic beer setting is a sign of the growing popularity and sway that the craft beer industry is gaining. We hope to see many more cans of our favorite brews in the sky, but until then — buckle up and enjoy the view (and brew!) on your next flight.
