Jones at school today! Someone stole her new furry mittens! So when Junie B. finds a wonderful pen of many colors, she should be allowed to keep it, right? Because finders keepers, losers weepers. And guess what? There’s a new boy in kindergarten and he is the handsomest. The only thing is both Grace and Lucille want him to be their boyfriend. Maybe he will love Junie B. when he sees her wonderful pen! It is okay to keep it, right? Junie B. Jones is not a crook . . . or is she?

Freaky Friday

By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.

Brew New Ideas: The Lab’s Grand Opening

The Grand Opening on Saturday, July 13, will have fun for the whole family. Whether you choose to try samples or flights of the craft beverages on tap at the self-serve tapwall or saddle up to the bar, there’s sure to be something for everyone to love. There will be 14 beverages on tap — 12 craft beers and 2 non-beers, inlcuding 2 new beer releases on the day. In addition, a variety of packaged craft soda, sparkling and protein waters, switchels and more will be available.

The grand opening will be an all-day event starting with the first 50 customers receiving a free t-shirt and pint glass to celebrate the grand opening. We will have 4 live music options throughout the day on the patio and in the taproom 1pm Just Us, 3:30pm One Ukulele, 7pm The Von Tramps (acoustic set), 9pm Russ Parrish.

Early afternoon will provide fun for the whole family with face painting and bounce house for the children, a variety of board and card games to play, as well as a visit from Fro-Yo Soul Frozen Yogurt (1-4pm). Our static food truck, Red River Kitchen, will also be available (1-10pm) for customers to order snacks and entrees from throughout the day.

Mid-afternoon will comprise of a bean bags tournament, taking place in our covered parking lot, along with other yard games including Yardzee and Lawn Jenga, as well as beer available for purchase.

Throughout the day there will be raffles and giveaways for customers to win beer crowlers, merchandise and more.

The Grand Opening will begin at 12pm and wrap up at 11pm on July 13. Come out to enjoy the beer, food, live music, fun, and help kick-off one of St. Paul’s newest breweries.

Music in the Park Series Family Concert: The Migration of Rhythm

Chalaca, a unique trio comprised of clarinet, harp, and percussion, takes you on a rhythmic journey from the Caribbean and South America all the way to New York City! From the baroque courts of Europe, to the ritual dances of West Africa, to the indigenous populations of modern-day Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil…Chalaca celebrates the cross-century, cross-cultural migration that formed today’s popular salsa, samba, mambo, joropo, and jequibau forms. Join them in celebrating composers who have immigrated to the United States and the folk masters who inspired them!

This series features nationally and locally celebrated performing artists in programs of folk, ethnic and classical music. Storytelling, dance and audience participation add to this vibrant array of concerts, created for children of all ages and their families. Concerts take place at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St. Paul.

Valentine’s Day with baby (and beer)

Lake Monster Brewing is about to become the best friend of every beer-loving parent of an infant this Valentine’s Day.

The new St. Paul taproom is partnering with Do Good Diaper Service to host “Babies and Brews Valentine’s Day Bash,” a celebration of your little (or not so little: toddlers are welcome, too!) bundle of joy and your love of good beer.

Games, corn hole, and prizes will be on hand, $5 pints of Lake Monster’s signature brews will be flowing from 1-4pm, and the taproom will be full of family-fueled love.
