Mother’s Day Chocolate Tour

Love fine chocolates? In other words, are you a living breathing human? Come join us on the Twin Cities’ only Mother’s Day chocolate tour! You will enjoy the best chocolate delicacies the Twin Cities has to offer, all while being chauffeured around in a warm cozy coach bus.

The tour will be filled with sweets from local chocolatiers while learning the history behind chocolate, the process and production, how to taste, and you’ll sample the newest craze—the cacao nib.

We’ll dive right into all kinds of chocolate starting with sampling Potion #9 Chocolate Sauce, sipping chocolate and chocolate with a variety of cacao percentages. When you leave, you’ll depart with a select truffle of your choice. This is a great location to grab a coffee, latte or tea—and yes, to answer your inevitable question, they have chocolate tea.

Next up is gooey turtles and their signature Chicago Mix Popcorn at a local favorite since 1932 that may have ties from the St. Paul mob. Their chocolate and caramel family recipe can be found in a large selection of chocolates from chocolate covered cherries to sponge chocolate.

Straight from the rooftops of St. Paul, this local beekeeping chocolatier features distinctive honey bon-bons. Their exquisite honey is encased in award-winning 100% chocolate and then hand burnished with 23K edible gold leaf. Each bon-bon is a brilliant union of elegance and raw nature.

Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival 2013 Tickets on sale now!

 

Its getting to be that time of year again. Minnesotans are packing the pantries and stocking the cellars for The Great State Hibernation. Rest comfortably, Dabblers. There will be time (and reason) to shake off the cobwebs come January. The Beer Dabbler, this magazine’s parent company, is gearing up to host its Fourth Annual Beer Dabbler Winter Carnival event in conjunction with The Saint Paul Heritage and Festival Foundation and The City of Saint Paul.

WHERE: St. Paul Famers Market, Lowertown

WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 26, doors at 3 PM, beer 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM

In addition to over 100 breweries sampling more than 300 beers, the festival includes: an official festival kick-off with Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman tapping the inaugural Oak Barrel brew – this year’s beer is to be a special release from Stone Brewing Company; new brews from various breweries; live music on two stages from local bands including Koo Koo Kanga Roo, The Chalice, Bloodnstuff and Heiruspecs; an AHA/BJCP Homebrew Contest presented by Northern Brewer; Lord Dabbler’s Cup awarded to the best brewery as voted on by festival-goers; hot food served by local gourmet food trucks including Gastrotruck, Natedogs, Potter’s Pasties, and many more; Leinenkugel’s Silent Disco and many more happy surprises.
