With over 175 breweries now pouring their beer in Minnesota, there’s always something new to try. To keep you up to date, we present The Mash-Up—our weekly rundown of new beers and seasonal releases in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries. Visit growlermag.com every Friday for the latest or sign up for a weekly email.

It’s a weekend of celebrating milestones. There’s a beer brewed in honor of a brewer’s child plus several fifth-anniversary celebrations—namely at Bauhaus this weekend, Sisyphus the next week, and an announcement of an upcoming party at Urban Growler in August.

As far as beer styles of the week go, gose, Keller Pilsners, and POG juice win as recurring themes. Insight is pouring a new blonde ale made with the Kveik yeast, Broken Clock’s SMaSH Pale Ale tournament continues, and Tin Whiskers has a new Hazy IPA series in the works. For those who plan to make the pilgrimage to Duluth later this month for All Pints North, there’s plenty of beer news happening in that area trickling in.

Each week, The Growler’s editorial team highlights five of the most tantalizing new beers hitting taps and store shelves that we’re most excited to try.

Bad Weather Due Date 3

A cognac barrel-aged Belgian quad brewed with dates. Brewed in honor of head brewer Andy Ruhland’s baby daughter, this was aged for eight months and then bottle conditioned. It offers notes of caramel, dates, cherries, vanilla, oak, and a little bit of spice, the brewery says. On sale this Saturday.

Eastlake Mezcalita

New in the Kirby Pucker series, Eastlake describes Mezcalita as a “sour ale brewed with agave, lime zest, sea salt, and aged on mezcal-soaked oak.”

Dave’s Brew Farm Saison Dandy

On tap when the brew farm is next open, July 13–14. They will also be open July 27–28.

Take 16 Rasprairie Solace

Another new bottle release, this beer is a barrel-aged raspberry dubbel with tart raspberry, sweet dark malt, and candi syrup.

Copper Trail SmashWerks

Featuring Simcoe hops and Minnesota-made malt, “It is a very sweet malt that brings a large depth of complexity. The hop chosen was a Simcoe hop. We chose it to provide a super refreshing undertone, while also adding a slight bitterness to the back end,” Copper Trail says.
