With over 175 breweries now pouring their beer in Minnesota, there’s always something new to try. To keep you up to date, we present The Mash-Up—our weekly rundown of new beers and seasonal releases in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries. Visit every Friday for the latest or sign up for a weekly email.

All Pints North is a summer highlight, but now that Bayfront Park is back to normal, the summer beer events keep coming in full force. The annual In Cahoots! Collaboration festival at Red Stag takes place this Sunday and features six special beers made by 12 different breweries, plus a one-off Indeed Shenangians variety appears at Uptown Art Fair.

Other exciting beer news comes in the return of Oktoberfest beers, a Vikings-themed beer out of Utepils, and a whopping 53 new specialty beverages at the Minnesota State Fair later this month. It turns out that summer may be in full sizzle, but its days are limited.

Minneapolis Cider Company is celebrating its official grand opening all weekend long, and Wild Mind turns 3 on Saturday with a new release. And that’s just a start of what’s new this week.

Bauhaus Brew Labs Y’allarhorn

Made using kveik yeast, this new Over the Charts series release is a juicy, hoppy IPA without the bitterness, Bauhaus says. “With a relatively simple grain bill of Pilsner and Vienna malts, along with a large percentage of protein malts like wheat and oats, this beer has a smooth, pillowy texture complemented by intensely juicy hop flavors and fruity yeast esters.” 7.0% ABV, 70 IBU. Available in 16-ounce cans starting this week.

Fargo Brewing Company Hot Cops

Back in limited supply, this is an apricot-infused wheat ale with habañeros that provide more flavor than heat, the brewery says. 5.0% ABV, 14 IBU.

Forager Brewing Company Participation Trophy

A 5.5% ABV, 35 IBU German-style Pilsner with balanced grain flavors and a lager bitterness.

LocAle Brewing Sunset Blvd

“A 6% ABV New England-style IPA brewed with barley, oats, and wheat, and hopped with lots of Mighty Axe Zenia as well as western Amarillo and Mosaic CryoHops. Low bitterness with mango, melon, and berry notes,” the brewery says.

Modist Brewing Company Cobra Triangle

A Pilsner fermented in Modist’s oak foeders and brewed with a blend of Bohemian, Bavarian, and Barke Pilsner malts. Available Saturday at the brewery and coming to cans next week.

  • Whoaa Bundy – Made for the In Cahoots! festival, this is a summer IPA with grapefruit, peach, and apricot. A collaboration with Drekker of Fargo.

Avery Brewing Co.

  • Bon-Bon Cerise – Up next in the Barrel-Aged series, this one-time release is an imperial stout with cherry, cacao nibs, and vanilla beans. “This dark, rich stout will remind you of a certain treat with tart, gooey cherries in a dark chocolate shell,” the brewery says.
  • The Kaiser – An imperial Oktoberfest lager. “The Kaiser weaves together rich toasted Vienna and Munich malts with the floral spiciness of Hersbrucker and Bravo hops to create a bold and brazen dry Imperial Oktoberfest,” Avery says. 8.0% ABV, and available in cans.

  • Hefeweizen – A Bavarian-style hefeweizen made using the deconcoction mash technique.

  • Day Spa – A hard seltzer infused with mint, limes, and cucumber, made in collaboration with Sociable Cider Werks to debut at In Cahoots! on Sunday.
  • Trampled By Stonefruit – The latest Infusion Series release is Trampled infused with peaches, plums, and apricot. On tap at select bars and restaurants now.

Big Axe Brewing

  • Pina Colada Milkshake IPA – A smooth, fruity, and slightly sweet IPA made with pineapple, coconut, and lactose.
  • Strawberry Blonde – Big Axe blonde ale infused with strawberry for a mild fruity finish.

Birch’s Lowertown

  • Strata Double IPA – A 9.5% ABV double IPA made with a single malt base of Golden Promise barley and then double dry-hopped with Strata and fermented on kveik yeast.

BlackStack Brewing

  • Ends Meet – “Malty, esthery, and exceedingly quaffable,” BlackStack says of this 6.5% ABV Belgian-style ale.
  • Meat Raffle – In cans now, this is an 8.6% ABV double IPA with Citra, Strata, and Amarillo hops.
  • Local 755,000 – An 8.3% ABV double IPA made with lots of Citra hops and an extra dose of wheat and oats.

Blue Wolf Brewing Co.

  • A Roll In The Hay – A Belgian-style saison with malt complexity, a little funk, and a little earthiness, Blue Wolf says. 6.8% ABV, 24 IBU.
  • Shandy Is Dandy – The weekly Shandy Is Dandy release is a blueberry-infused American wheat ale. 5.0% ABV, 15 IBU.

Brau Brothers Brewing Co.

  • SMASH Simcoe IPA Farmhouse Ale – Made with two-row barley and Simcoe hops, this farmhouse IPA offers orange, pineapple, mango, and mild onion notes, the brewery says. 7% ABV, 46 IBU, and available at the taproom only.

Dangerous Man Brewing Company

  • 3 Cups of Lemongrass Ale – This collaboration with Witchhunt debuted at All Pints North last weekend and tapped at the Minneapolis brewery on Thursday.
  • Zilzner Kellerpilz – A Keller Pils brewed with Tony Zaccardi of Palmer’s Bar, tapped on Thursday at Palmer’s.
  • Guava Grapefruit Creamsicle – A creamy, tropical ale brewed with wheat, oats, lactose, grapefruit, and guava.

Drekker Brewing

  • Whoaa Bundy – Made for the In Cahoots! festival, this is a summer IPA with grapefruit, peach, and apricot. A collaboration with Able.

Excelsior Brewing Company

  • Excelsior Seltzer – A hibiscus guava seltzer introduces this new line of 100 calorie, 1 carb options at the taproom. 5% ABV.

Fair State Brewing Cooperative

  • Peachtea Keen – A mixed fermentation table beer with peach, made jointly between Fair State and Portage for In Cahoots! on Sunday. It’s described as fruity, funky, and spritzy.

Forager Brewery

  • Nice Crispy Treats – A collaboration with Modist, this is a crisp lager with marshmallow, vanilla bean, and lactose. Available at In Cahoots! on Sunday.
  • Parma-Grin: Pina Colada – A 6.0% ABV, 4 IBU sour smoothie IPA brewed with marshmallow and lactose and fermented on pineapple, lime zest, coconut, and vanilla.
  • Participation Trophy – Top Flight selection
  • Swerve – A 5.7% ABV, 30 IBU double dry-hopped IPA with ruby red grapefruit and coconut notes, the brewery says.

Fulton Brewing

  • Made with Surly for In Cahoots!, this sparkling ale is made with lime, mint, peach, and basil.

Garphish Brewing Company

  • Gar-de-Garde – Tapped last week, this is a biere de garde-style beer. “Prominent malt sweetness is accented by a slightly fruity-herbal quality. Low hop bitterness makes this beer a thirst quencher,” the brewery says. 6.3% ABV.

Great Lakes Brewing Co.

  • Oktoberfest – This late summer seasonal is described as approachable, with hearty hops complemented by caramel and baked bread notes. 6.5% ABV, 20 IBU.
  • The Mighty Lager – This limited release is a session amber lager brewed specially for the band O.A.R, with toasty malt flavors and a clean finish, the brewery says. It is available in Northwest Ohio, plus at select concerts on the band’s summer tour. O.A.R plays Mystic Lake Casino tonight, August 2. 4.5% ABV, 20 IBU.

HeadFlyer Brewing

  • Strawberries & Cream Ale – A new Beyond The Door series release, this is a cream ale with 21 pounds of strawberry puree added, along with lactose for added body and sweetness.

Junkyard Brewing Co.

  • Blackberry Lime Terminal Delight
  • Galactic Falconer – A New England-style hazy IPA.
  • Killer Hibiscus – A sour ale with hibiscus.

Lake Superior Brewing Co.

  • Pineapple N’shore – Duluth’s senior production brewery will feature a different exclusive release each week as part of the one-day-only Saturday Sipper series, including Pineapple N’shore on August 3.

Lakes & Legends Brewing Company 

  • Swing Set – A kettle sour made with Minnesota-grown strawberries and rhubarb. Sour up front with a smooth, sweet finish, the brewery says. 4.9% ABV, 8 IBU.

LocAle Brewing Co.

  • Helles – A crisp, clean German-style light lager.
  • Sunset Blvd – Top Flight selection
  • Westbound – This is a West Coast-style IPA that pours at 6% ABV and offers a blend of Chinook hops, and hop hash of Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus.

Lupulin Brewing

  • Hopsicle Stick – A collaboration with Pryes and available at In Cahoots! this Sunday, this is a hazy IPA with a blend of Galaxy, Sabro, Cryo Citra, Azzaca, and Simcoe hops.

  • Apricot Dream – Tapped on Wednesday, this Dream Series beer was made with fresh apricots.

Portage Brewing Company

  • Peachtea Keen – A mixed fermentation table beer with peach, made jointly between Fair State and Portage for In Cahoots! on Sunday. It’s described as fruity, funky, and spritzy.

Pryes Brewing Co.

  • Hopsicle Stick – A collaboration with Lupulin and available at In Cahoots! this Sunday, this is a hazy IPA with a blend of Galaxy, Sabro, Cryo Citra, Azzaca, and Simcoe hops. Pryes says it will be at the taproom next week as well.

  • Oktoberfest – Each year, Sierra Nevada collaborates with a European brewery for its Oktoberfest beer. This year the beer was made in tandem with Germany’s Bitburger Brewery. “The collaboration Oktoberfest will feature a rich amber color, smooth malty flavor, and balanced hop character,” Sierra Nevada announced earlier in a press release. 6.0% ABV, 22 IBU.
  • Saison de Rose – A “bring ‘n’ spicy” summer beer brewed with grape must and hibiscus.

  • MN Haze Hazy IPA – Made with Mighty Axe Minnesota-grown hops, this beer will pour at the Minnesota State Fair beginning on August 22.

  • White Russian Nitro – A new nitro seasonal, coming soon.

  • Cherry Firework – A gluten-free, 120 calorie seltzer aged on Midwestern cherries that will debut at the Minnesota State Fair on August 22.
  • Key Lime Pie – Returning to Cafe Caribe at the State Fair this year.
  • Mini Donut – Returning to Ballpark Café at the State Fair this year.

Moose Lake Brewing        

  • Morning Haze – Moose Lake says a new batch of this New England-style IPA is in the works.

  • Can-O-Bliss 3 – Round 3 of the Can-O-Bliss IPA series will be coming soon, the brewery announced this week.

  • Alpha State ‒ The latest Noble Star Collection is a sour ale aged on over 6,000 pounds of cherries.
