With well over 100 breweries now pouring their beer in Minnesota, there’s always something new to try. To keep you up-to-date, we present The Mash-Up—our weekly rundown of new beers and seasonal releases in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries. Visit every Friday for the latest or sign up for a weekly email.

As Oktoberfest celebrations kicked off statewide (and in Germany), Minnesota breweries look to the past and celebrate milestones. Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub turned five this week and Third Street announced the second beer in their historic series. Meanwhile, Schell’s sour facility, The Starkeller, has the new Exit Velocity on tap.

In new beers, start-ups have plenty of new recipes on tap this week, such as Karst, Broken Clock, and Portage. For those looking for something festive, it’s the annual SurlyFest in Minneapolis, Lakeville’s two breweries released a collaborative double IPA, and Fulton and Gasthof teamed up for an exclusive Oktoberfest.
