The Mill: T-Day Beers, Tryptophania, Christmas Markets and more

Smoked turkey liver mousse at Tiny Diner

Daniel Murphy // Growler Magazine

The Mill is just about set for Thanksgiving. We’re trying out turkey liver mousse recipes (like Tiny Diner’s, above) and we know which three beers we’re bringing on Thursday. Which local suds will grace your holiday tables? Any other T-Day beer events you’re excited about? Let us know what’s on your radar in The Mill by tweeting us @growlermag.

Events Upcoming:

Northbound Smokehouse has a spate of Thanksgiving events this week, from tonight’s tapping of Clementine Big Jim to Friday’s sidewalk sale.

Surly Brewing is taking over the taps at both Brasa locations this evening.

On Thanksgiving Eve, head over to Buster’s On 28th for Tryptophania, in which they’ll be tapping all kinds of rare suds from Deschutes.

Friday is the one year anniversary for Sociable Cider Werks, which they’ll commemorate with a bunch of special releases all evening long.

If you’ll be in St. Paul on Friday, don’t miss out on a dozen Russian Imperial Stouts at Señor Wong’s Imperial Black Friday.

This weekend, Dangerous Man hosts a holiday market. Friday and Saturday, check out wares from 20 local artisans, plus food trucks, and of course, beer.

And you should stop by the European Christmas Market in St. Paul this weekend, and drink two special seasonals from Great Waters Brewing while you’re there.

Lazerbeak gives you all the details on the upcoming Surly/Doomtree blowout.

Is craft beer truly crowding out Budweiser? Or have they just shifted focus to selling “crafty” competitors?

The great local beer blog Alcohol By VoluMN takes a deep dive into the issues surrounding growler sharing and refilling.

The Next Glass app calls up chemical analysis data to find your next favorite beer. Is anyone in Growler Nation using it? Or what other beer apps are you hooked into?

Fitger’s Brewhouse is your local meat hookup this holiday season. Pick up one-pound packages of their Scottish Highland ground beef at the brewhouse.

Wednesday night, join Fulton Brewing at their taproom for the release of barrel-aged Libertine.

Bent Paddle Brewing is releasing 750ml bottles of Bourbon Barrel Aged Double Black this week. The beer is essentially a double-thick batch of their black ale, aged for six months in bourbon barrels. Wax-dipped bottles will hit select Metro retailers today.
