The Mill is getting breezy. We’re weathering the gusts and sneaking in some long bike rides. We’re playing Kubb before the snow blankets our fields (have you found Issue 16 yet? If not #snagamag now!). What’s on tap for you this week in The Mill? Tweet us @growlermag.

First two dozen pints come with a Tin Whiskers pint glass during their mini tap-takeover at Pizza Luce Hopkins, 4pm tonight. Tin Whiskers will also be tapping special firkins this weekend as the St. Paul Art Crawl takes over the capital city.

Then on Wednesday, 5–9pm, stop over to The Muddy Pig for a 612Brew tap takeover.

Digby’s Roseville will be the site of Flight Night For The Fall Fete on Thursday, hosted by the Ordway Circle of Stars. A $30 ticket gets you all kinds of appetizers and flights from 612Brew, Boom Island, Bent Brewstillery, Lucid, Fulton, and Indeed.

Also on Thursday, get in the Halloween spirit at the Science Museum of MN as Social Science explores the undead.

NorthGate Brewing‘s new taproom officially opens this Friday.

This Saturday, stop over to the Beer Dabbler Store from 10am–5pm on West 7th Street in St. Paul for its Tent Sale Blowout.

Finally, it’s the last week of Oktoberfest. Be sure to check out all the festivities happening across our fair state in our Oktoberfest roundup.

Congrats to the Minnesota breweries who took home the hardware at the Great American Beer Festival this past week. In other GABF news, Miller Lite won a gold medal, too.

In a huge win for those of us who want to taste beer at breakfast without getting drunk before work, an Italian beer spread is now available stateside. Birra Spalmabile spreads like ganache and tastes like beer, while being alcohol-free.

Indeed Brewing will release Rum King in 750ml bottles and a few on-premise accounts starting in the middle of October. This hefty imperial stout has been aged in Diplimatico rum barrels, and comes across with a beautiful vanilla/molasses/cocoa nib way about it. It’s 10.5% ABV but has surprising lift, avoiding that oil slick aftertaste you’ll find in many of similar breed. You can try it out at their Hullabaloo 2014 festivities this Saturday.

Brewery Ommegang‘s fourth Game of Thrones-inspired beer is on shelves. Valar Moghulis is an amber dubbel, most recently preceded in the series by last spring’s Fire & Blood Red Ale.

Some Fulton fresh hop was tapped at Muddy Waters yesterday.

And the beers from the mildly insane Scottish duo BrewDog, whose program you may have seen on Esquire Network, are becoming available in Minnesota.
