First Avenue’s annual Best New Bands showcase features a handpicked lineup of seven of the most promising newer bands in the Twin Cities. This year’s lineup features Aero Flynn, Bruise Violet, Murder Shoes, Perfume Monster, Eric Mayson, Baby Shel, and Lexii Alijai. Anonymous Choir is a 15-piece choir, led by Dark Dark Dark’s Nona Marie Invie. Their shows consist of “your favorite songs” arranged for a full choir, and their repertoire runs the gamut from STAX Records staples to Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and more. Invisible Boy is the solo project of bassist Chris Bierden of Poliça and (formerly) Vampire Hands, along with other bands.
